Another rise in fuel prices in Morocco, an increase of 36 cents per liter for diesel is expected on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, according to data from the National Federation of Owners, Dealers, and Managers of Service Stations in Morocco (FNPGS).
The price of a liter of gasoline should increase from 17.78 to 18.48 dirhams/liter.
As for diesel, the price of a liter increases from 15.97 to 16.52 dirhams. These increases vary slightly by the distributor.
Since the beginning of 2022 and even before the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, fuel prices in Morocco have risen continuously.
Indeed, the price of a liter of unleaded increased from 12.11 dirhams at the beginning of January to more than 17.80 dirhams in the month of June. An increase of more than five dirhams per liter per semester.
The price of a liter of diesel has also increased by 5 dirhams, moving from 10.13 dirhams at the beginning of the year to more than 15.60 currently.
In April, the price of diesel exceeded the price of gasoline for the first time in Morocco's history, reaching 14.30 and 14.16 dirhams, respectively.
As a reminder, the government launched a support operation for workers in the field of land transport with the aim of maintaining the purchasing power of citizens in light of the current situation characterized by the continuous rise in fuel prices.
Thus, professionals have already benefited from two subsidies allocated to them according to categories, while the third tranche of subsidies is underway.
